What Are Lash Extensions?
Lash Extensions are a glamorous new way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes, and are a practical, convenient and beautiful alternative to the daily use of mascara. Unlike decades-old, traditional false lashes, lash extensions are the first innovation in lash lengthening that can be worn daily, without nightly removal. Because each tapered, synthetic lash is bonded to a single natural lash, the final result is of effortless glamour and difficult to detect even close up.
How Long Do They Really Last?
When properly applied, using Platinum Bond Adhesive, NOVALASH eyelash extensions are INSTANTLY WATERPROOF and OILPROOF, and can be worn throughout the year with minimal monthly maintenance. Touch-ups are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have cycled out. To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of lashes a visit to your beauty/lash professional is recommended every 3- 4 weeks based on your own natural lash growth cycle.
Can Lash Extensions Harm Natural Lashes?
When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. The NovaLash application technique allows natural lashes to grow and thrive with extensions. This technique requires several different “separation” steps during the application process so each extension is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle.
Can Mascara Be Used With Lash Extensions?
Mascara is typically not needed with lash extensions. Water-soluble mascara can be worn; however constant use of mascara may shorten the lifespan of lashes. Waterproof mascara is not recommended for use, as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. NovaLash glycol and carbonate-free mascara is specifically formulated for use on extensions without interfering with the adhesive bond.
Lash Homecare Tips for Making Lash Extensions Last Longer:
You did it! WOW Look at your GORGEOUS LASHES! Now that you’ve made the decision to invest in your beautiful lashes, you need to know how to care for them at home between fill appointments.
AVOID WATER for 24 HOURS after each appointment. Your lashes will be waterproof & oilproof once applied and will last even longer if allowed to cure.
Brush once or twice a day gently with a clean, disposable mascara wand. This will keep lashes untangled and help stimulate lash growth.
Clean and Condition your lashes with NOVALASH brand cleansing pads. These are specifically formulated for lash extensions to keep the clean, conditioned, and healthy until your next appointment.
AVOID PRODUCTS CONTAINING GLYCOL as this will break down and loosen the bond of your lash extension causing early fall out. *NOVALASH brand Eyeshadows are PERFECT if you want to wear makeup! They are a cream-powder formula, multipurpose (eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipliner, blush, contour/ highlighter) that sets to be water & smudge resistant all day!
You will notice random fall out daily as your natural lashes are going through their growth cycle and shedding on their own. This is perfectly normal and you may expect 3 - 5 shed per day.
AVOID ANYTHING with COTTON or fibers around you lashes. The fibers will get caught on your extensions and may cause irritation or worse pull your natural lash out prematurely. Again... ONLY USE SUGGESTED AFTER CARE PRODUCTS.
Use a growth serum for you lashes--Lash + Doctor can be ordered upon request. A growth serum is great for keeping extensions on, as it keeps lashes strong, healthy, and keeps up with new lash growth.
Don't hesitate to ask about different lengths, thicknesses, curls, and the actual shape of lashes!
