Ok so I have a New Year's Resolution (better late than never huh?): to SART BLOGGING MORE! to share all the great information I collect in my virtual library that helps with Nutrition which leads to a healthy body, great skin, & better quality of life. It only seemed fitting to start with Digestive Disorders because it's still January and alot of us are still attempting to get rid of some excess pounds from all the yummy, heavy, rich eating we participated in during the Holidays. Heart burn, contipation, bloating, gas, and nausea are just a few symptoms that occur from overindulging and having one of these green smoothies a day will help with imbalances and improve your digestive tract.
Just to preface all this, I am not in any way perfect in my meal planning, grocery shopping, declining sweet treats & junk food. But I have gotten to a point where I know what my body craves/ needs and I do attempt to do my best at eating healthy 80% of the time. I am a believer that certain things in life are ok in moderation.
Before my daughter was born I discovered the Magic Bullet on a TV infomercial and everyone laughed at me for purchasing the thing. Funny thing was they all ended up using it just about everyday. Smoothies and milk shakes (laced w/ meal replacement goodness) were a semi- daily thing). It didn't occur to me that you could possibly use this unit in lieu of "juicing". And then they came out with the NutriBullet system! Ahhh a Novel idea. So I bought one of those and wah lah!
I tend to get excited about having good intentions especially when it's supposed to make life easier. So, I gathered alot of fruit and veggies along with protein powder, leafy greens, chia seeds, & flax seed and went to town. Now niether Kale or Spinach is very appealing when it comes to thinking about drinking the stuff in a smoothie. But after giving it the "taste test" it's really pretty tasty and so good for you in so many ways.
Well, enough ranting about all my experience up to this. My plan is to post great smoothie recipes mostly every other week that all have the same end goal: to create more healthy bodies which = great looking skin! ;)
Cheers to all you Beauties out there! Have a "BLAST" ;)
P.S. you can most likely use whatever dark leafy green you have in your pantry: Spinach or kale is great..
